We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a particular focus on baking. This role is essential in creating a variety of high-quality pastries and desserts, while also supporting our daytime offering through freshly baked breads and small sandwiches that enhance the overall dining experience.
Duties
Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
Create ideas for new dessert menus, including seasonal specials and rotating signature items.
Produce fresh breads, rolls, and baked components for service.
Prepare small sandwiches and light bakery-led items (where required), maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
Ensure all food production meets quality and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during prep and service periods.
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items, contributing creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
Proven experience in food production and preparation within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong culinary skills with a focus on baking techniques and pastry creation.
Experience developing new dessert items/menus and contributing creative concepts.
Confidence producing breads and basic savoury bakery items (e.g., rolls, small sandwiches) to a consistent standard.
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, showcasing the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new techniques within the culinary field.
Kitchen experience that demonstrates reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail is preferred.
