Our love affair with cakes began back in 2002 when we opened our first Cakes & Bakes branch in Eastham, London.
We imagined a place where customers searching for scrumptious eggless cakes and savouries could discover a wide range fit for any occasion, without paying through the roof.
Duties:
Prepare and bake a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and baked goods to meet daily production targets.
Develop new recipes and seasonal products in collaboration with the Executive Chef and R&D team.
Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion control across all branches.
Oversee batch production and monitor ingredient usage to minimise waste.
Train and support junior bakers and branch staff on new products and baking standards.
Maintain strict hygiene, health, and food safety regulations as per company and UK/EU standards.
Conduct regular quality checks and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely dispatch of goods to branches.
Assist in scaling recipes for mass production without compromising quality.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a commercial bakery or production kitchen.
Expertise in cake decorating, baking techniques, and pastry arts.
Knowledge of food safety procedures (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred).
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work early mornings and occasional weekends, depending on production needs.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality.
Flexibility to visit branch locations if required.
