Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled PAT Test Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive testing procedures for complex electronic and mechanical systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving System-on-Chip (SoC) technology, automation, and system design, contributing to the realisation of high-quality products. Candidates should possess strong electrical engineering expertise, experience with CAD software, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++. The position is full-time and involves collaborative problem-solving to ensure product reliability and performance.

Duties



Develop detailed test plans and procedures for electronic, mechanical, and embedded systems, ensuring thorough coverage of system functionalities. Perform root cause analysis on system failures or anomalies using debugging tools and signal processing techniques. Conduct testing of SoC components, firmware, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to verify compliance with specifications. Utilise CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks to assist in system design verification and schematic review. Analyse schematics and circuit diagrams to identify potential issues related to surface mount technology (SMT), soldering, or electrical connections. Implement automated testing scripts using Python, Perl, or other scripting languages to streamline validation processes. Use simulation tools like Simulink and MATLAB for system modelling and performance analysis. Collaborate with design engineers on system design improvements based on test results; contribute insights into mechanical knowledge and electrical experience. Assist in firmware debugging and validation for ARM-based microcontrollers or similar architectures. Document test results meticulously; prepare reports highlighting issues related to signal processing or electrical anomalies; recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field. Proven experience with system design, debugging, and testing of electronic systems involving SoC architectures. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation or SolidWorks; experience with schematic capture is essential. Strong programming skills in Python, C++, Perl; familiarity with firmware development is advantageous. Knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and surface-mount assembly processes. Experience with signal processing techniques and root cause analysis methodologies. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, and embedded system development environments. Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately; understanding of electrical components and mechanical integration is desirable. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail; capable of working independently or within a team environment under tight deadlines.
