Are you a highly organised, approachable, and professional administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? Join our friendly team as a

Patient Administrator on a 12-month fixed-term contract

. In this important role, you'll help deliver a seamless experience to our patients by providing efficient booking and clerical support within our busy unit.



You'll play a vital part in ensuring that outpatient clinics and theatre lists are managed effectively and that patients receive clear communication and excellent service at every stage of their care journey.

What you'll be doing





As our Patient Administrator, you will:


Provide an efficient booking service for patients, including appointment scheduling and processing referrals Answer calls and enquiries from patients, GP surgeries, and other healthcare professionals in a polite, professional manner Manage and maintain accurate records in our Patient Administration System (PAS) Coordinate outpatient clinics and theatre lists to ensure maximum capacity utilisation Prepare and organise patient notes and ensure all clinic documentation is up to date and available in advance Handle appointment reminders, cancellations, DNA records, and transport requests Support the achievement of Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets and performance objectives Work flexibly, including some evening and weekend shifts, to meet the needs of the service Participate in training and personal development to enhance your skills

What we'll look for in you





With your experience in a reception or administrative role, ideally within healthcare or a service sector environment, you will also have:


Confident telephone manner and excellent communication skills Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and patient record systems Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure, and adapt to changing demands A friendly, professional, and approachable attitude Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and customer service Flexibility to work across departments and sites as required NVQ in Business Administration or Customer Care Training - desirable Experience with Choose and Book or similar referral management systems - desirable Knowledge of data protection and information governance policies - desirable
