Ipsen is seeking a passionate and strategic communicator to lead patient advocacy and portfolio communications across the UK & Ireland.


As a key role within the Corporate Affairs and Market Access Team, the Patient Advocacy Manager will play an integral role in ensuring that the voice of the patient is reflected throughout Ipsen's market access and commercial planning activities and will be accountable for the delivery of key projects and initiatives.


The role will also be responsible for shaping and delivering Portfolio and Corporate communication activities which underpin the delivery of key of our core business goals.

Key Responsibilities




Patient Advocacy & Communications

Responsible for leading the Patient Advocacy activities for defined priority brands, the role will provide subject matter expertise to the franchise teams (integrated brand teams) on the core PAG activities which are required to enable effective disease awareness and education. Responsible for developing strong relationships with key patient advocacy groups and professional organisations to deliver initiatives which elevate the voice of the patient internally and externally. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative/high impact campaigns and projects which increase disease awareness and enable patients to be 'activated'. Plan, design and deliver external communications programmes, encompassing HTA/regulatory milestones, disease awareness, data opportunities Project management including agency management and media liaison, and development of press materials Ability to engage with and influence senior internal stakeholders, preparing briefings and providing direction for their engagement in external media opportunities (including media training) Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ipsen's global priorities to inform and shape U.K. & Ireland communications & Patient Advocacy strategies

General communications support and counsel,

Ability to work flexibly and take responsibility for any other external and internal projects that require communications and project management support within the Corporate Affairs and Market Access function's scope Provide support and knowledge to shape and prepare internal and external presentations/communications for leadership team: including town hall events, media interviews. Influence and inform key internal stakeholder messages to be cascaded across U.K. & Ireland organisation Take responsibility for ensuring all PAG and Communications activities are conducted in accordance with our business ethics & code compliance.

You are a purpose-driven communicator with a deep understanding of healthcare and a passion for amplifying the patient voice. You bring a strategic mindset and hands-on experience in patient advocacy, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement. You've led initiatives that don't just inform - they inspire, educate, and drive meaningful change.

Basic Requirements



Experienced communications professional, minimum of 5 years' experience in equivalent/relevant roles, with exposure to corporate and brand comms Experience working within a matrix organisation Experience leading the delivery of projects Excellent verbal and written communications skills Experience in a healthcare, industry or agency sector with communication or media experience IT literacy with ability to manage social media platforms Knowledge of the U.K. healthcare environment Knowledge / familiarity with ABPI / IPHA codes of practice

Preferred Requirements



Formal Project management skills Relevant/applicable disease area experience (oncology, neurosciences, rare disease)
