Bicester Health Centre is one of the longest established GP practices in Bicester, located close to the town centre. We have over 20,000 patients registered with us and are served by a large clinical team of GP's, Nurses, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Social Prescribers and support from an excellent administration team. We are recruiting a Patient Coordinator to join our friendly, welcoming team of dedicated professionals. This candidate will be enthusiastic and reliable to help us provide the highest quality care to our local community.
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks. Good timekeeping is important along with the ability to work well under pressure, empathy, understanding and a desire to learn and improve.
Job Summary:
As a Patient Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience. Your primary responsibility will be to guide patients through their healthcare journey, ensuring they receive the best care possible. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Booking appointments
- General administrative duties
- Dealing with Patient queries over the phone and face-to-face
- Maintain and update patient records
- Signpost patients to the services they require given their needs
- Assisting the Clinicians if external agencies are required
- Carrying out checks daily in Doctors rooms and locking/unlocking doors

Schedule:
- Set 3 days - Monday, Wednesday and Friday (08.00-18.00hrs)
Experience:
- Reception experience is preferred but not essential as we offer full training and development in-house.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with patients of diverse backgrounds and age groups is essential.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment is required.
- The ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and maintain patient confidentiality is important.
Computer skills
- Ability to use email, aptitude for standard business software and a willingness to learn our EMIS clinical system is important.
