We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Patient Pathway Administrator to join our team. The post holder will work as part of a team, however, you must have the ability to work under direction and be able to communicate effectively. You must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to prioritise the workload and meet deadlines.
Essential is a sound grasp of information technology and information governance.
The post holder is required to be flexible and responsive in their role and to support the wider team in the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Somerset Surgical Services (SSS) Ltd is an independent healthcare company based at Weston General Hospital providing elective surgical care to NHS patients. Founded by NHS consultant surgeons in 2012, the aim of SSS is to offer the very best of NHS healthcare including low waiting times, consultant delivered care and excellent patient care.
SSS is CQC registered and holds a contract to deliver elective activity with the local Integrated Care Board.
Key responsibilities:
Communication
Communicate clearly with all staff as required in the co-ordination of the patient pathway
Ensure timely and clear communication is delivered to patients in regard to their pathway of care in a courteous manner
Communicate and respond promptly to requests from the team
Operational
Support the Company Directors with administrative functions as required
Support Pathway Coordinators with the administration of appointments and admissions including generation of patient correspondence and associated filing
Support the Clinical Typist with the formatting of clinical letters and any related administrative tasks, ensuring that all medical information is processed in accordance with company procedures and information governance requirements,
Maintain accurate electronic and paper records to support patient's pathways of care
Note preparation ahead of appointments and admission
Transportation of notes around the hospital
Develop and maintain good working relationships to help ensure patient pathways are managed appropriately
Provide accurate data to the senior management team when requested
Distribution and collation of patient satisfaction surveys
Policy Development
Be proactive in proposing improvements to administrative processes or procedures within the work area and implements changes, involving or advising other administrative or medical/clinic staff as appropriate.
Responsibility for Information Systems
Accurately inputs, updates and retrieves data using a variety of data collection system (electronic and paper-based)
Maintain up-to-date and effective filing systems to facilitate the prompt retrieval of information required.
Safely manage patient information in line with information governance requirements
Staff Management, Training and Development
Demonstrates own work to new starter in own area and give guidance as required
Identify personal training requirements
Contribute ideas to the overall development of the business
Personal Responsibilities
Comply with the terms of the contract of employment
Be aware of, comply with and keep up to date with all SSS and relevant Trust Policies and procedures and other communications relevant to the role
Fully participate in annual appraisal and appraisal reviews
Maintain up to date knowledge and competency in the skills required to perform safely and effectively in the role. Undertake relevant training (including statutory and mandatory training).

Qualifications
5 GCSE grades A-C including English and Maths
Experience within an administrative role
Excellent written and interpersonal skills
Proficient and professional telephone manner
High level of accuracy and organisation

Good computer skills
Bright, enthusiastic and motivated individual
Willingness to learn and develop
Able to work flexibly and on occasion, work evenings or weekends to support service delivery

Keeping your personal information
