Job Description

The specialist division is formed of 13 specialities that operate trust wide with a combination of services within. Within this role you will have the opportunity to work across the whole MDT within the Division to development our patient safety portfolio. This is a new role to compliment the development of a quality and safety team to support the division.
Main duties of the job
The Patient Safety Investigator will investigate patient safety incidents in line with the patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF) and within the framework of Trust policies and processes. The postholder will assist in identifying areas for improvement, recommending actions to drive improvements, and implementing safety protocols.
Patient safety investigators will help foster a culture of safety within the division by focusing on continuous improvement by investigating factors in patient safety incidents; including how human factors, teamwork, tasks, equipment, workspace, culture, and organisational drivers affect behaviour, and recommending improvements.
The role requires a blend of clinical knowledge, analytical skills, and a comprehension of patient safety standards to effectively investigate, conclude and enable improvements and action plans. This will involve engagement of patients and families as well as divisional leadership teams and clinical teams.
