Mobile Patrol Officer Vacancy: Apollo Security Division, Stevenage

Apollo Security Division is actively recruiting for Mobile Patrol Officers to operate from our Stevenage office. We invite applications from highly professional and vigilant security personnel to join our expanding team. This role is offered on both a Self-Employed basis, operating on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts, providing essential mobile security and alarm response services to our diverse client portfolio.

Role Overview

As a Mobile Patrol Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of client assets and personnel through proactive patrolling and effective alarm response. This dynamic position requires adherence to established protocols, rapid decision-making capabilities, and precise communication. You'll be the eyes and ears for multiple clients, often in different locations, and your effective response to alarms can prevent significant loss and ensure safety.

Key Responsibilities

Proactive Security Patrols: Execute scheduled and random patrols of client properties to deter criminal activity, identify security vulnerabilities, and maintain a visible security presence.
Alarm System Response: Respond swiftly and safely to various alarm activations, including intruder, fire, panic, and environmental alarms, at client sites.
Incident Management: Assess situations, implement appropriate actions, and manage security incidents from initiation to resolution, always prioritising personal safety.
Detailed Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all activities, observations, and incidents utilising both manual and digital reporting systems.
Stakeholder Liaison: Professionally represent Apollo Security Division in interactions with clients, key-holders, and emergency services (Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance).
Keyholding & Access Management: Securely manage and log client keys, ensuring strict access control protocols are followed.
Vehicle Operations & Maintenance: Conduct mandatory daily vehicle checks, adhere to safe driving practices, and promptly report any vehicle faults.
Candidate Requirements

Possession of a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence (Door Supervision and/or Security Guarding) is mandatory.
Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and paramount safety standards.
Exceptional communication skills, including clear verbal communication, precise radio procedures, and accurate incident reporting.
Proven ability to conduct dynamic risk assessments and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
Proficiency in the use of GPS and mapping software for effective route planning and navigation.
A clean driving licence with a good driving record is essential.
Prior experience in mobile patrol or alarm response is advantageous, though comprehensive training is provided.
Ability to commit to a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern, comprising 12-hour shifts.
Compensation & Working Hours

The 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern represents the baseline minimum hours to be offered for this role.
All Bank Holidays worked are paid at double time.
Self-Employed Basis: The annual gross income for self-employed officers is 32,972.16, based on a rate of 13.21 per hour. Please note that self-employed individuals are responsible for their own tax, National Insurance, and other business expenses.
