Job Description


Iconic Resourcing Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting a global organisation in their search to appoint a Payments Manager on a full-time, permanent & fully remote working basis (with occasional travel into the Glasgow office).

With over two decades of success within the technology sector, this hugely successful organisation pride themselves on their unique market offering. With continued success, they require a Payments Manager to lead a small Finance team who are responsible for the global payments processes across the business. Key areas of the role will surround:

Monitor and achieve performance targets and standards effectively

Establish communication with relevant banking institutions to ensure accurate requirements and processes are well-understood and in place

Actively participate in organisation-wide projects

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Payments team and offer guidance on operational matters

Identify and implement new system enhancements or procedures related to payments to enhance the department\'s operational efficiency and performance

Ensure strict adherence to audit and regulatory requirements at all times. Any identified weaknesses or breaches are promptly addressed and escalated as needed

Evaluate the training needs of the payments team and ensure they possess the necessary skills and competencies for their roles. Provide on-the-job training and support when necessary

Maintain and update team training materials and process flow documentation, as well as troubleshooting guides, to ensure accuracy and relevance

Serve as the primary point of escalation for payments team queries

Enforce compliance with processes concerning client payment handling

Regularly monitor the issues tracking spreadsheet to address and resolve any outstanding issues

Provide coverage for tasks performed by team members during holidays or absences

To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:

Experience in managing a team is essential

A strong background within Accounts Payable or Cash & Banking is also essential

Strong reconciliations experience is essential

Ability to motivate, coach and mentor a team to success

Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal

Ability to work well cross-departmentally with excellent stakeholder management skills
