We are looking for an experienced qualified or part qualified Payroll accountant to join the finance team in this period of change. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business playing a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager to maintain accurate financial records, comply with reporting standards. This role requires attention to detail, analytical skills and a strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements. This role will require post holder to have strong working knowledge of payroll accounting.
You'll be responsible for:Supporting the Finance Manager to manage the month-end Payroll accounting close processes for Mace. Reviewing and reconciling payroll balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation and support for all balances, highlighting as required areas of risks and opportunity. Working closely with the Payroll team to ensure all information is obtained on a timely basis to help determine correct accounting treatment. Assisting with internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Driving process improvement initiatives to ensure best practice. Preparation of other management information as required by the business. Ad hoc tasks as required.

You'll need to have:Profession accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA. Intermediate excel user. Experience preparing Balance sheet reconciliations. Experience with project costing and posting internal recharges. Good understanding of accounting principles. Able to work using own initiative.
