Payroll Administrator

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and confident with numbers?

Do you thrive on accuracy and enjoy helping people by solving payroll queries?

Are you looking for a role that blends payroll expertise with hands-on HR administration?

If so, Torque has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our team.

About the Role

As a Payroll Administrator, you'll play a key role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time. You'll manage payroll for both weekly and monthly staff, handle queries, and maintain employee records. Alongside payroll, you'll support HR administration, from onboarding new starters to maintaining employee lifecycle data and reports.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same--you'll be the go-to person for payroll queries while contributing to the smooth running of HR processes across the business.

What You'll Do

Process accurate and timely weekly and monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees. Manage payments, including overtime, premiums, and ad-hoc pay. Maintain payroll records, including starters, leavers, and employee changes. Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries, resolving discrepancies quickly. Support audits and ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures. Provide HR administration support, including onboarding paperwork, access passes, and system updates. Maintain employee lifecycle data and generate reports for HR and leadership. Assist with wider HR activities such as sickness tracking, probation reviews, and recruitment administration.

What We're Looking For

Experience in payroll processing (weekly and monthly payroll desirable). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Comfortable handling sensitive data with confidentiality. Good IT skills, with experience using HR and payroll systems (and confident with Excel). Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
