We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our People Team, based at our Polegate office. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the Group, supporting our employees, and contributing to operational excellence at IBMG.

The Role




As our Payroll Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all colleagues across IBMG are paid accurately and on time. Youll manage the administration of payroll, pensions, and colleague benefits while maintaining compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.


This role is perfect for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for delivering accurate results in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment.

Key Responsibilities



Process accurate and timely payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation. Maintain payroll records, including employee details, attendance, hours worked, leave balances, and deductions. Calculate and administer statutory payments such as sick pay, maternity/paternity pay, and other relevant entitlements. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions. Liaise with HR and Finance departments to ensure accuracy in employee data, benefits, and compensation changes. Respond to payroll-related queries from employees in a professional and timely manner. Prepare payroll reports for internal use and external audits, as required. Submit accurate reports and payments to payroll provider, pension providers, and other third parties. Support end-of-year processes, including issuing P60s, P45s, and reconciling payroll accounts. Submit P11Ds and relevant benefits. Stay updated on payroll legislation and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

What Were Looking For



Proven experience managing payroll systems in a complex, multi-entity organisation Proven experience in working in payroll Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices (e.g., PAYE, NI, pensions) Strong knowledge of HRIS, payroll systems High level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent organisational and time management skills Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (e.g., iTrent, People HR, People First, Oracle, etc.) Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Good communication skills and a helpful, customer-focused attitude A proactive and problem-solving mind Experience in construction, trade, retail, or a similarly fast-paced industry is a plus

Desirable Qualifications



CPP qualification or working towards it (or equivalent) Experience with auto-enrolment and pension scheme administration Familiarity with HR & Payroll systems integration
