About the Role
We're looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Administrator to join our growing team in Canterbury. This is an administrative support role with a strong focus on payroll, working closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely processing. You'll also provide essential support across a range of HR administrative tasks, helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
You will be required to travel between our sites in Kent so will need a current UK driving license.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Payroll Manager for weekly and monthly payroll
Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees
Maintain accurate employee data across payroll and HR systems (Moorepay experience is a plus)
Run reports, check data integrity, and make necessary updates
Ensure payroll documentation is complete, accurate, and well-organised
Set up new starters on time and attendance systems
Process reference requests and employee changes such as contract amendments and leavers
Conduct exit interviews and support employee engagement activities
Maintain HR documentation and ensure noticeboards are up to date
Support managers and employees with HRIS self-service tools
Take notes during investigations and disciplinary meetings
Assist with HR and Learning & Development projects
Provide general administrative support to the HR team and wider site
Continuously seek ways to improve processes and enhance the employee experience
What We're Looking For
Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
Experience supporting payroll processes (essential)
HR administration experience is desirable
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive, professional, and team-oriented approach
Comfortable working with systems and handling sensitive data
