We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join the UK's largest specialist wine retailer!

The Role:


As Payroll Administrator, you will be working within our small, friendly Payroll team which is part of the wider People Team, providing an excellent payroll service to all colleagues. Our goal is to ensure accurate and timely pay each month, every month and this role plays a key part in that.


You will be working on end-to-end payroll, processing starters, contractual changes and leavers, as well as providing excellent customer service and support on all payroll-related queries from our colleagues.





Key Responsibilities:


As Payroll Administrator, your key responsibilities will be:


Ensuring all payroll queries via the Freshdesk system are dealt with in a timely manner while ensuring an excellent customer experience, identifying and escalating more complex queries to the Senior Payroll Manager. Actioning monthly payroll changes such as starters, leavers, salary changes, job and department changes, location transfers and any ad hoc variable changes. Administering statutory payments such as jury service, maternity, paternity, parental and adoption leave, as well as attachments of earnings orders and any other deductions Reviewing payroll checking reports, ensuring all changes and variable data have been processed correctly Carrying out ad-hoc and scheduled payroll reporting as required.
Knowledge & Skills Required:


As Payroll Administrator, you will need to:


Have a minimum of three years sound end-to-end payroll experience, preferably within a high volume, fast-paced organisation Be able to process intermediate functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel Be familiar with payroll software - experience of People XD would be an advantage Be comfortable working with other IT systems - experience of Google Suite and Freshdesk would be an advantage Have a strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy Be able to work within a team, as well as using your own initiative Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Be customer-focused Be reliable and honest

Job Specifics:


Contract Type: Permanent Hours per week: 30 Location: Hybrid - in person at our Head Office in Watford 3 days per week, with 2 days a week working from home
