Ocean infinity is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll and Finance Manager to join our finance team. This role is key in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of payroll processing, accounts administration, and intercompany financial transactions. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and eager to take ownership of processes while learning and growing within the team.

What you will do:Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for UK and international employees; Work closely with HR and external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions; Maintain payroll records and reconcile payroll accounts to the general ledger; Assist with pension scheme administration including auto-enrolments, re-enrolments, and compliance with statutory requirements; Support the payroll year-end processes including P60s, P11Ds, and HMRC filings; Manage the processing of employee expense claims and credit card reconciliations in accordance with company policy; Review submissions for accuracy, compliance and VAT treatment; Ensure compliance with IR35 regulations, including contractor status assessments, documentation, and working with external providers to mitigate risk; Support global mobility processes, including coordinating tax, payroll, and relocation matters for internationally mobile employees; Liaise with employees to resolve queries and ensure timely reimbursement; Prepare and post month-end journals including payroll, accruals, and recharges; Support the finance team with preparation of financial schedules and reporting packs; Prepare and post intercompany recharge invoices based on internal schedules or agreements; Assist with audit queries and statutory reporting; Assist with ONS reporting and other statutory reporting; Provide administrative support across the finance function as needed.

Who you are:Proven experience managing payroll processes across UK and international jurisdictions, including working with external payroll providers; Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, pensions, benefits, and year-end requirements (P60s, P11Ds); Knowledge and practical experience of IR35 compliance, including contractor assessments and working with third-party providers; Experience with employee expense processing, VAT treatment on expenses, and company credit card reconciliations; Understanding of PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSA) and Employer Related Securities (ERS) reporting requirements; Good working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (NetSuite experience preferred); Good understanding of accounting principles and ability to prepare journals and support audit processes; Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills; Can-do attitude and commercial mindset; Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision; Discreet and professional when handling sensitive payroll and employee data; Team player, willing to support across the wider finance function when needed; Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving processes, priorities, and responsibilities.
Desirable:Familiarity with mobility and expatriate tax/payroll issues, including relocation support and shadow payrolls (desirable); Knowledge and experience of US payroll processes and compliance requirements (desirable); Knowledge of offshore payroll; CIPP qualification (or working towards) is a plus.

Salary for this position: Up to 55,000 per annum
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
