Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist

This role can be 100% office-based or offered as a hybrid position combining office and home working. A minimum of two days per week in the office is required to support team cohesion and maintain staff morale.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients
Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping across various accounts
Prepare VAT returns
Reconcile bank statements and support year-end accounts
Liaise with clients to resolve queries and ensure compliance
Requirements:
Proven experience in payroll and bookkeeping (ideally within an accountancy practice)
Sage 50 Payroll experience preferred but not necessary
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and accounting procedures
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills
AAT qualification or equivalent preferred but not necessary
