Job Title: Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Business Partner



Location: Gunwharf



The HR function at Wightlink is looking for a Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Business Partner to join the team. If you have comprehensive experience of payroll management coupled with compensation and benefits expertise, this could be the ideal role for you.

What you'll be doing



Accountable for monthly payroll, ensuring accurate timely and compliant processing and payroll queries are resolved swiftly.

Maximising the usage and functionality of the payroll system (iTrent) to deliver efficiencies in payroll processing.

Managing end to end salary review process (including salary benchmarking) with HRD and in accordance with any formal trade union negotiations on pay.

Management of employee insurances and benefits, covering annual renewal processes to a review of current colleague benefits.

Providing guidance and expertise on bonus schemes and employee recognition schemes from the framework to terms and conditions.

Working collaboratively with the HR Team and wider business to deliver personal, departmental and company-wide objectives.

What we're looking for



Extensive knowledge on core payroll processes and HR practices that feed into payroll.

Established practical experience of payroll management, specifically with employee groups that have a variety of different pay spines/rates, shifts and allowances.

Comprehensive knowledge of salary sacrifice schemes, such as pension, cycle to work, car, and others.

Technical and practical working knowledge of payroll systems, preferably iTrent or similar, where shift/rotas and HR functionalities are linked.

Experience of managing salary review processes and employee insurances and benefits.

A background in process improvement, specifically automation and digitalisation.

A qualification in HR or Payroll.

A competent Microsoft Office user, with intermediate Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate large data sets for reporting and key management information.

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
