Payroll Implementation & Quality Specialist

Remote, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Do you love payroll... but want more than processing the same payrolls every month?
Do you enjoy digging into data, spotting issues others miss, and making sure everything is exactly where it needs to be?

And, are you someone who's genuinely great at setting up new clients, checking YTD data, and making sure everything is perfectly implemented before a payroll ever runs?

At Payroll Sorted, we're one of the fastest-growing payroll bureaus in the UK, working exclusively with accountants, We're now looking for an experienced payroll professional to join us in a split role across our Implementation and Quality Control Team.

The Role

This is a split position covering two key areas:

On-Boarding / Implementations

You'll help ensure new clients are set up correctly before their first pay run, including:

Setting up PAYE schemes, agent access and pension schemes Migrating payroll data into BrightPay Checking YTD figures and correcting inconsistencies Updating portals, calendars and internal systems Reviewing handover data and notes Handling onboarding queries via email and phone Keeping onboarding trackers up to date

Quality Control

You'll help check payrolls produced by our processing team, ensuring everything is accurate before being sent to clients:

Reviewing client instructions vs the payroll Checking starters, leavers, deductions, additions and calculations Validating statutory payments, AE and pensions Identifying errors, communicating fixes and supporting process improvements Working quickly and accurately across multiple payrolls, especially at month-end

What We're Looking For

Strong end-to-end payroll experience (bureau experience preferred) Experience setting up or migrating new clients Excellent attention to detail Confident communicator via email and phone Able to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment Tech-savvy and comfortable working across multiple systems Quick learner who embraces automation and new technologies

BrightPay Experience

A big advantage if you've used BrightPay before, it's our software of choice.
Not essential, but definitely a head start.

Tech Savvy is Essential

We're a tech-led payroll bureau, so we need people who are confident with cloud systems, quick to learn new software, and comfortable using multiple tools. If you enjoy automation and finding smarter ways to work, you'll fit right in. If tech drains you, this role won't suit you.

The Setup

This is a remote, home-working role but not the "coffee shop with a laptop" type.

You'll need a dedicated workspace at home, quiet and distraction-free, suitable for calls and focused work.

We'll send you everything you need, including:

MacBook Additional monitor VOIP phone handset and headset

What You'll Get

A supportive, friendly team who've mastered remote working Full training and access to our internal guides, systems and process library Career progression opportunities as we continue to grow The satisfaction of playing a vital role in delivering accurate payrolls across thousands of UK employees every month
