Job Description

Join our Kegworth Head Office Payroll Team as a Payroll Manager. You will report to the Head of Payroll Transformation and Compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising all activities and submissions. You will also develop a high-performance team consisting of two Payroll Administrators and one Payroll Officer. We are based just off Junction 24 of the M1 and therefore easily accessible from Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham, Derby, and surrounding areas.

Permanent - Hybrid - work 2 days from home



Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5 pm and Friday 8:30 am - 4 pm

About you




We are looking for a candidate with extensive payroll experience, preferably with managerial or supervisory experience leading a payroll team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in payroll calculation and processing. Experience in handling payroll tax queries is preferred, and familiarity with ADP/People XD systems is a plus, but not mandatory.

Key responsibilities of the Payroll Manager



Ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly salaried and hourly payrolls, including employment changes and benefits. Manage payroll data provision to external benefit providers and handle related tax filings. Resolve payroll disputes and queries, maintaining compliance with GDPR for sensitive data. Oversee preparation of monthly journals, reconciliations, and pension auto-enrolment processes. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams and support audits by providing necessary payroll data. Supervise and train payroll staff, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of strong controls. Continuously review and improve payroll policies and provide support for related group projects.
