We are seeking a SAGE 50 fluent, detail oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage around 300 of our payroll clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely end to end payroll processing, maintaining compliance with pension regulations and providing support to the payroll assistant working under your guidance. This role requires strong analytical skills, high proficiency in SAGE 50 payroll software, and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure. Expect a busy hands on payroll role both personally processing and personally checking/authorising the work of your assistant.
Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Mange the monthly upload of pension data to multiple pension platforms.
Deal with multiple day to day queries directly from clients.
Oversee and authorise the work of your assistant to ensure the client receives only accurate payroll.
Provide training and support to your staff regarding payroll processes and systems.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar role within an accounting or bureau environment.
Strong knowledge of SAGE 50 payroll software.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with your assistant while also being self-motivated.
A degree in finance, accounting or a related field is preferred but not essential.
