Payroll Manager



Are you an experienced payroll professional ready to take full ownership of the payroll function? We're looking for a confident and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead on all payroll-related matters within our growing business. This is a standalone role, offering autonomy, variety, and the chance to truly make the role your own.

What You'll Be Responsible For



Running the end-to-end monthly payroll process for all employees, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with UK legislation. Managing employee pensions and auto-enrolment responsibilities, including reporting to pension providers and communication with staff. Preparing and submitting P11D and PSA returns and handling other year-end statutory reporting to HMRC. Acting as the first point of contact for all payroll queries from staff, offering clear, confident, and accurate advice. Ensuring accurate processing of bonuses, holiday pay, statutory payments, and other payroll elements. Maintaining secure and up-to-date employee records in collaboration with HR. Keeping internal payroll procedures and systems efficient, compliant, and audit-ready. Driving continuous improvement in payroll processes and maintaining robust internal controls.

What We're Looking For



At least 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll management (ideally in a standalone role) Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, statutory deductions, and HMRC processes Proficiency with payroll systems such as Xero (or similar), and advanced Excel skills Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality Confident communication skills and the ability to build trust with colleagues A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach
