Palladium is seeking a
Payroll Manager
for a
12-month fixed-term
role to provide parental leave cover. This role is accountable and responsible for ensuring salaries are processed for payment in an accurate and timely manner.
The Payroll Manager will:
Manage the operations of the payroll within the established procedures to ensure timely and accurate generation of payroll, statutory deductions, and any internal salary coding
Manage administration of the Deltek Time Collection System; updating, reporting and the associated data integrity
Manage the administration of timesheets transition process to ensure the cost of salary and employees' benefits are reflected correctly in financial system for all employees in Payroll region
Location:
The position is based in Palladium's London office, within our United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa (UKEA) region. Please note that applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Palladium supports a hybrid working model with 3 days in office, 2 days from home.
Reporting Lines:
The role will form part of the Finance Department and will report to the Regional Finance Director
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
To manage regional payroll workload for both Associates, Payroll and self
Process assigned payroll payments and any outsourced payrolls accurately and obtain the necessary authorization for payments
Manage the processing of timesheets and the posting of timesheet journals against projects at month end (using the Cost Point module in the Deltek ERP suite)
Reconcile and resolve any coding or setup errors in employee timesheet data
Maintain the payroll master file in conjunction with information and instructions received from HR, Project management and Operations teams, and the Finance department
Ensure that all increases, adjustments, leave, variable pay and bonus provisions are accurately calculated and recorded
Process payment of expenses or allowances as authorised
Ensure that the payroll outsourcing provider is updated with all changes as required, all data and figures provided to them are accurate and submitted on time
Regular communication with any payroll outsourcing providers that Palladium uses
Process service termination functions and onboarding of new employees
Verify all transactions for compliance with Palladium's HR and Financial policies and procedures
Coordinate the transfer of salary funds to the bank
Reconcile accrued salaries and wages and all payroll relevant accounts in the general ledger
Respond to queries from employees and external agencies on payroll and benefits related issues
Ensure proper filing of all payrolls records and maintain confidentiality of records
Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, processing retirements / pension payments, group and payroll tax as per legislation requirements
Deliver Business Activity Statement information to the various businesses by due dates
Year-end processes and reconciliations for Payment Summaries
Year-end reconciliations and payments to relevant authorities.
Coordinate and manage external and internal payroll audit request Formulating any reports as requested by Management, HR, or Finance
Monitor and contribute to continuous improvement in the payroll and business processes
Play an active role in improving HR/Payroll processes
Assist with advice to other payroll functions in the designated region
Manage and develop team members - set goals, provide feedback, coach, and mentor
Any other duties assigned by the Finance Director
Additional tasks as required
Essential Criteria:
Payroll Management Certificate or similar
Minimum 5 years' experience in full function of Payroll processing
Experience working with Deltek GCS or Costpoint accounting system an advantage
Experience working with major payroll systems, ADP/Equiom experience advantageous
Knowledge of multi-state payroll taxes
Understanding of payroll principles, practices, regulations, and procedures
Project accounting / experience of processing timesheet data and posting the resulting journals against projects in an ERP is essential
Understanding of basic accounting practices and procedures
High standard of written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to details and accuracy
Quick starter: Ability to deal with complex problems, employment contracts and related issues
Ability to work independently and also be able to operate as part of a team and able to communicate in a friendly and polite manner
Sound decision making skills
Ability to communicate effectively with different cultural contexts and negotiate persuasively with high level as well as other employees
Desirable Criteria:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting advantageous, but not required
