Purpose



The Payroll Officer will ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all staff across the Trust's five schools, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and Trust policies.

Key Responsibilities



Payroll Processing



Prepare and process monthly payroll for all academies within the Trust. Ensure accuracy of salary calculations, deductions, and statutory payments (PAYE, NI, pensions). Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality.

Compliance & Reporting



Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and pension scheme requirements. Prepare statutory returns (e.g., end-of-year certificates, Teachers' Pension submissions). Support internal and external audits by providing payroll data and reports.

Employee Support



Respond to payroll queries from staff promptly and professionally. Provide guidance on pay-related matters, including maternity, sickness, and other statutory entitlements.

Systems & Data Management



Maintain and update payroll systems and employee data. Ensure accurate input of starters, leavers, and contractual changes.

Continuous Improvement



Contribute to the development of payroll processes and procedures. Support the implementation of new systems or upgrades.

Trust responsibilities



Support the wider Trust team as required including HR, Finance, Governance and Compliance. Share the Trust's Vision, Mission, Values and Behaviours and communicate them effectively. Participate in Staff Review and Professional Development activities and be actively involved in the Trust's culture of high expectation. Value diversity and promote equality. Engage in marketing activities and liaison with employers and the wider community in line with Trust strategies. Contribute to cross-Trust events. Adhere to Trust policies and procedures including Health and Safety. Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Any other duties that the CEO or Chief Finance Officer consider appropriate.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 25,989.00-28,142.00 per year
