AtkinsClarke are recruiting a

Payroll Officer

to take ownership of payroll for a contract workforce of approximately 450 staff, paid via timesheets. This is a full-time, hands-on role offering a good balance between payroll processing, administration and light HR support within a well-structured and largely automated environment.

The role will suit someone with solid payroll experience who enjoys accuracy, process and working closely with operational teams.

OPPORTUNITY



As Payroll Officer, you'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timesheets are processed accurately and all starters, leavers and pay changes are reflected correctly. While systems are largely automated, attention to detail and ownership are key.

Key responsibilities include:

End-to-end processing of payroll for ~450 contract staff Managing timesheet inputs and validating data prior to payroll runs Maintaining pay rates and ensuring accurate application of changes Processing new starters and leavers Acting as first point of contact for payroll queries Supporting payroll reporting and reconciliations Administering statutory payments, deductions and compliance requirements Providing basic HR administrative support where required Ensuring payroll records are accurate and up to date

PERSON



We're looking for a reliable and organised payroll professional who is comfortable working with volume payroll and timesheet-driven processes.

You will bring:

Previous payroll experience (in-house or bureau) Experience processing timesheet-based or contract payroll (desirable) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good working knowledge of payroll legislation Confidence using payroll systems and Excel A proactive and customer-focused approach The ability to work 3 days per week on-site in Redditch
