About the Role



We are looking for an

experienced Payroll Bureau Officer

to join our growing team on a fully remote basis. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client payrolls, ranging from 2 employees up to 360 employees, across a variety of industries.

This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, accurate, and comfortable owning the entire payroll process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities



End-to-end processing of multiple client payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly basis using Sage 50cloud Payroll. Confidently handling payrolls for schemes ranging from 2 to 360 employees. Setting up and processing: Salary sacrifice schemes (e.g. pensions, childcare, cycle to work) Auto-enrolment pensions, including setting up new schemes and ensuring deductions are correct Starters, leavers, and contractual changes Sickness, maternity, paternity and other statutory payments Calculating and processing holiday pay correctly, including complex patterns (e.g. variable hours, 5 over 7, part-time staff). Submitting all relevant RTI filings to HMRC and dealing with any queries. Producing and checking payroll reports, payslips, P45s, P60s and other year-end documents. Liaising with clients by email and phone to resolve payroll queries promptly and professionally.

About You



Essential:



Strong, proven experience in a payroll bureau environment

(or similar role handling multiple payrolls).

Excellent knowledge of Sage 50c Payroll

- this is a must. Confident managing

multiple payrolls with different pay frequencies

, deadlines and client requirements. In-depth knowledge of: PAYE, NIC and statutory payments Salary sacrifice arrangements Auto-enrolment pensions and correct assessment/processing Holiday pay calculations, including variable hours and non-standard working patterns High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Comfortable working independently from home, with good communication and organisational skills.

Desirable:



Experience with NEST and other common pension providers. Experience working with accountancy practices or payroll bureaus.
