About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist (f/m/d) to join our global payroll team. This team ensures that the organizationxe2x80x99s multiple payrolls are processed accurately and on time. This position would reside in our HR function and would be based in our APAC Region. As part of a global team, the payroll professional will perform essential activities required for the execution of end-to-end global payroll operations, while ensuring integrity of financial information, in accordance with internal policies and external government regulations.This is a remote position, and you can work from your home office in most locations within the UK.Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible through review and analysis, accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for APAC countries in accordance with company policies and local regulatory standard, including liaising with payroll vendors where applicable
  • Be responsible for accurate and timely filing and payment of statutory payroll withholding taxes/social security contributions to relevant government authorities
  • Be responsible for annual employee income tax filings, resolve escalations by providing root cause analysis and corrective action for complex or non-routine situations
  • Review existing work practices and recommending areas for improvements including workflows, payroll vendor competencies, analysis & planning and regulatory compliance etc., consistently
  • Prepare month-end journals and reporting integrating to the financial system including preparation/distribution of departmentalized payroll detail reports, leave accrual etc.
  • Assist in implementation of improvements/enhancements, including working independently with all stakeholders, and achieve high level of efficiency, accuracy and compliance
  • Provide support for both internal and external audits on payroll related accounts, payroll related journal entries and accruals
Required Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or related professional qualification with minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven track record of multi-country payroll management with relevant experience in APAC region; Japan, India or Korea is essential
  • Experience working in virtual, multicultural, with overseas and local teams, with demonstrated decision-making and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experienced consulting and collaborating with leaders and teams in process optimization and compliance governance projects
  • Solid and current understanding of payroll rules, tax regulations, labor laws, policies and practices governing wage payments, distributions, and record keeping across multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Be proactive, agile, number-sensitive, analytical and detail-oriented, critical thinker, process improvements
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with daily activities and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Self-starter who can prioritize work and organize workload simultaneously with minimal supervision, passion for learning, critical thinking and high level of follow through
  • Fluency in English is required, proficiency in additional Southeast Asian languages is a plus such as Japanese & Chinese
Desired Qualifications:
  • Payroll or Financial certification preferred with equivalent experience
  • ADP Streamline or other Managed Outsourced Solution
  • Experience with ERP & HR systems, preferably SAP or hands-on experience with SAP would be an asset
