Payroll Supervisor
to join our People Events team to ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient payroll operations across our growing workforce.
The Role
As Payroll Supervisor, you'll take ownership of our weekly payroll process, working closely with our external payroll provider and internal Finance team. You'll ensure our people are paid correctly and on time, while also supporting our
People Event Managers
with recruitment, onboarding, and compliance. This is a hands-on role where you'll be central to improving processes, enhancing systems, and supporting the wider People Events team during peak seasons and large-scale events.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the weekly payroll process, ensuring accurate data (hours, pay rates, and expenses) is submitted to deadlines.
Act as first point of contact for payroll queries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Maintain and update the online payroll portal, including processing leavers and staff changes.
Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and timely payroll delivery.
Support
People Event Managers
with onboarding, applicant screening, and right-to-work checks, ensuring all compliance and GDPR requirements are met.
Improve and develop the use of
Ubeya
, driving system efficiency, reporting insights, and compliance (including biannual audits).
Assist with staff scheduling, contacting workers regarding availability in a professional and friendly manner.
Provide support at job fairs and careers events, promoting opportunities at FEP.
Deliver on-site support at large events around the UK, including registration, on-boarding, allocations, staff briefings, and welfare.
Raise purchase orders for agency staffing requirements as needed.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll and staffing processes.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
Proven experience in payroll administration or supervision (experience with outsourced payroll providers desirable).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Knowledge of payroll systems and legislation, with confidence in managing compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and external partners.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a drive for process improvement.
Flexibility to support event operations across the UK when required.
