Job Description

Purpose of Role:


The Payroll/Time and Attendance Project Manager role is a critical role within our organisation, responsible for managing and delivering the time and attendance project that impacts our Operational colleagues. Working with multiple stakeholders across the organisation, the Project Manager will oversee the successful implementation of the new time and attendance system, ensuring opportunities to enhance processes, optimise systems, and leverage technology to deliver measurable business value have been taken.


This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Project Management



Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the time and attendance system, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timelines. Work closely with the global project management team to ensure collaboration and a joined-up approach. Develop detailed project plans, including milestones, and resource allocation. Proactively monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure that projects meet quality standards, budgetary constraints, and deadlines. Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, such as automation, data analytics, and cloud solutions, to enhance business performance.

Process and Change Management



Work in partnership with both colleagues across the wider business to ensure new processes are effectively integrated into the organisation. Develop and execute change management strategies to support the adoption of digital transformation initiatives. Support the provision of training, support, and documentation to teams impacted by new tools and processes. Oversee the migration from the legacy Time and Attendance system to the new platform, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and minimal disruption to business operations.

Stakeholder Engagement



Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure alignment with project objectives. Proactively identify, consult, clarify and communicate project roles across project teams and wider business, to ensure clarity of input, accountability and responsibility. Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communication, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders. Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input, provide updates, and drive consensus on project decisions.

Governance and Reporting



Contribute to the overall reporting and governance of the Global steerco Provide regular updates to UK senior leaders, tracking progress against KPIs.

Responsible for:

Building strong cohesive relations with the global project team to ensure a joined-up approach Proactively monitoring project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies Partnering with colleagues across the wider business to ensure new processes are effectively integrated into Operations Building strong relationships with UK project team Acting as primary point of contact for all project related communication, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Essential Experience:

Extensive experience managing complex projects within Payroll and Time and Attendance environment. with a focus on excellence, demonstrating excellent leadership and management capabilities, Proven experience in delivering technology-enabled process improvements and system implementations. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall). Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello). Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams.

Experience Desirable:

Payroll Experience (via Workday) Knowledge and experience of Workforce Management/Time and Attendance systems (ADP, UKG, Kronos)

Qualifications:

Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). Experience in a multinational or matrixed organization. Knowledge of specific T&A systems (e.g., Kronos, ADP, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
