An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced
Payroll/Accounts Assistant
to join a very busy accounting department based in Dartford.
We are a well-established storage and distribution centre of fresh produce from worldwide exporters, growers and importers, with expertise in delivering to the UK wholesale markets. The company is currently located over 3 sites in Kent, with the head office based in Dartford. The operations work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The role:
A Payroll/Accounts Assistant supports a company's accounting department with their day-to-day functions by managing payroll, carrying out entry-level accounting duties, including ownership of purchase ledger, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities:
Processing of the weekly Driver's wages and 4 weekly payrolls.
Monthly payroll reconciliations to the General Ledger.
Processing of Purchase Ledger on the Stirling accounting system.
Reconciliation of Supplier's statements and handling of all PL invoice queries.
Provide active support to the Management Accountant with the production of weekly P&L and KPI's.
Balance sheet reconciliations.
Petty Cash.
Ad-hoc duties as required to support the team.
Skills:
You'll need to have:
Significant previous experience in a comparable role, including experience in payroll
AAT or part CIMA/ACCA qualified, desirable not essential.
Excellent IT skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good numeracy skills with a keen eye for detail.
An enthusiastic and organised approach to work.
Thorough and robust nominal ledger knowledge.
Be able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Be a good team player.
Own transport required due to location.
Working hours and Salary:
Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm,
based on-site.
This role will be permanent, however, subject to successful probationary period.
Salary:
Negotiable depending on experience
Payment every 4 weeks
