About you...
As a PCB & Assembly Technician at Hastel you will be part of a small but dedicated team and be responsible for assembly, testing and repair of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and IoT devices. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and reliability of our products and requires a strong understanding of electronic circuits, soldering techniques, and PCB layout.
In this role you will..
Assemble electronic components onto PCBs using both surface-mount and through-hole techniques.
Accurately place, solder, and inspect components following schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
Operate and maintain equipment such as soldering irons.
Perform visual inspections and functional tests on assembled PCBs to identify defects and ensure they meet specifications.
Troubleshoot and repair defective boards, including component replacement and solder rework.
Document test results and work performed, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Install PCBs into IoT devices and perform final assembly.
Processing of returned devices for fault finding or recycling.
Complete production and quality control reports, noting any issues and resolutions.
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy via workstation organization, following production processes and participating in stock takes.
Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate PPE & uniform, to ensure all work meets regulatory standards and work areas are kept clean, tidy and organised.
Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on PCB/ device designs which enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality for continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance: Achieve a 98% pass rate in PCB assembly and testing processes.
Precision Assembly: Ensure 100% accuracy in the placement and soldering of electronic components.
Efficiency: Meet daily/ weekly production targets while maintaining high standards of quality.
Inventory Management: ensure component inventory is handled appropriately and in line with required consumption
Documentation Accuracy: Maintain complete and accurate records for all assembly and testing activities.

Experience of manual through-hole soldering (with a soldering iron not machine soldering)
A 'can do', confident, friendly, solutions driven approach
A demonstratable track record in maintaining positive working relationships with both internal and external partners

Excellent communications skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information

Salary: 27,500 per annum
Bonus: 800 annual productivity bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day) - Monday to Friday, 06:00am to 14:30pm (30 minute lunch break)
