30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Core hours are 12pm - 6 PM. Additional hours outside of core hours will be allocated for childcare cover and community sports activities. Overtime will also be available.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE and Community Sports Coach to plan and deliver high-quality physical education lessons and sports activities across our partner schools. The role also involves facilitating community sports sessions and fostering strong relationships with teachers, parents, and children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering PE and sports across multiple primary schools and childcare settings in Greater Manchester. While you will primarily be based at one school per day, there may be occasions where you are required to work at two locations to accommodate business needs. You will receive your timetable on a half termly basis; however, flexibility is required as schedules may change due to sickness, annual leave, or other operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality PE and sports sessions for partner schools and childcare settings.
Conduct engaging and inclusive community sports activities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with school staff, children, and parents.
Collaborate with teachers and school staff to enhance children's physical education experience.
Attend internal and external training sessions as required by the organization.
Provide exceptional customer service and uphold the organisation's standards of excellence.
Undertake any additional duties that contribute to the success of the organisation.
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum of 12 months experience as a Sports Coach.
Level 2 qualification or higher in a relevant field.
Proven experience in delivering PE and sports education within primary schools.
Strong knowledge and experience in lesson planning and activity organisation.
Ability to engage children in physical activity effectively.
Experience in organising and managing extracurricular sports activities.
Understanding of safeguarding procedures in an educational setting.
Ability to travel between different schools if required.
A valid First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable:
A degree or a high level (level 4 or above) qualification in a related field.
Additional coaching qualifications in multiple sports.
Experience in organising school competitions or events.
Knowledge of the Primary School PE National Curriculum.
Previous experience in delivering community-based sports sessions.
