St Nicholas' School is seeking to appoint a teacher of Physical Education and Games to start in September 2025, or January 2026 for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about sport, has a love of learning and who wishes to share that passion with enthusiastic and energetic young people. We are looking for someone with excellent administrative and organisational skills, patience and flexibility. A proven record of successful coaching in football, hockey or gymnastics would be advantageous, along with a category D1 entitlement on their driving licence.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching PE across the age range 3-16, including activities such as fitness, gymnastics and athletics.
Coaching teams and games sessions as appropriate in netball, hockey, volleyball, badminton, football, basketball, cricket, rounders and tennis.
Officiating as appropriate in these sports.
Team teaching.
A significant contribution to a busy and expanding extra-curricular and fixtures programme (occasional mornings from 7.50am, some lunch times and most days after school until approx. 5.30pm).
Assisting with weekly departmental administration, planning lessons, reviewing and updating schemes of learning, attending meetings and INSET days, and completing any other reasonable task as requested by the Director of Sport.
Assisting with the organisation of sports days, house events, sports awards evenings, festivals and tournaments.
Undertaking school duties.
Supporting the pastoral team as a senior Tutor (TBC).
