Primary Sports and Education have been operating in the South West for 16 years and delivering over 1500 hours of sports coaching per week. We current deliver our programmes to our partnered schools in Devon, Somerset, North Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, a good communicate, is able to work within a team, to organise and manage their own after-school and holiday camps and to promote the company within other local schools and community.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our Devon team. We expect the candidate to be highly motivated, able to work as part of a team, has an outstanding knowledge of School Sport and the new curriculum, is able to use affective behaviour management strategies within their practise, to organise and administrate after-school and holiday camp provision, promote sport within the schools, update our social media platforms, to promote our company ethos, values and morals to other local schools and within the community.
Full Time Position available in Seaton/Cranbrook - Start date - Monday 5th of January 2026
The role is full time working at two Primary Schools in Seaton and Cranbrook for 35 hours per week during term time and have the option of working 30-40 hours per week delivering our holiday camp programmes during non-term time. Candidates must have at least 2 years' experience of working within a school environment delivering sporting programmes to primary aged children.
The successful candidate will be delivering a large number of our programmes including Continued Personal Development (CPD), curriculum time, PPA, Wrap around care, extracurricular, Community events, Yoga and Wellbeing, Interventions, Young leaders, Active Playgrounds, Gifted and Talented clubs, Holiday camps and our PSHE classroom-based schemes

We also expect the successful candidate to be vibrant, fun, confident, reliable, punctual, well presented, attend all CPD programmes delivered by Primary Sports, follow our schemes our work, to build positive relationships with teachers, children and parents in each of their schools, to organise and run interclass and inter-school tournaments/ competitions, adhere to our company policies, to have experience of coaching SEN children, to make themselves indispensable within their schools, to be able to provide constructive feedback to teachers about the programmes that they will deliver and to discuss the assessments they have created at the end of a unit of work.
Rates of pay: 15.00-16.50 per hour depending on experience/qualifications and which programme is being delivered and the role is sub contracted.
Candidates must have:
NGB Level 2 Qualification
Clean driving license
Clear enhanced DBS check
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Level 2 Safeguarding and Child protection
Prevent training
Allergy training
Preventing the spread of COVID certificate
Knowledge of the current National Curriculum (September 2019)
Knowledge of the current GDPR laws and regulations
A clear passion for Sport
Experience of coaching a wide range of sports to primary aged children
Experience of working with SEN children
Experience of teaching Gymnastics and Dance
Competent in literacy and numeracy at level 3 standard
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Competent in using social media

SAFEGUARING STATEMENT - Primary Sports is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Prospective applicants will be supplied with Primary Sports child protection and safer recruitment policy. All staff will be expected to complete a DBS check if they are not already on the DBS Update Service and supply references.
Interview Process:
Candidates will be expected to attend a formal interview via Zoom and complete a practical assessment at one of our partnered schools. Candidates will also be expected to complete our Criminal Records and Child Protection Declaration forms during the interview process.
