Grade UE05: 29,179 - 33,482 per annum, pro-rata as part-time



Part-time: 9 hours per week



Fixed-term: for 12 months from start date - Summer 2025



The School of Chemistry are looking for a student to help us develop our Peer Support offering in the School of Chemistry.



The Opportunity:



We have two active peer support committees in place for 25/26 - CAcFams and ChemPALS and we are looking for a PSSC to support both to provide Peer Support to our Chemistry students in 25/26 as well as maintaining a good connection and collaboration with our other key student group - the ChemSoc committee.



The Opportunity here is to us to capitalise on the learning, relationship building and resources created to further develop Peer Support in Chemistry. The Peer Support Student Coordinator (PSSC) will have the opportunity to work with their peers and the academic and student support staff to drive this project.



Your skills and attributes for success:



In-depth knowledge of the School of Chemistry student experience e.g.by being a current (25/26) undergraduate student, or a postgraduate student who completed their undergraduate degree in the School of Chemistry. A pro-active and collaborative approach to projects and leadership. A good communicator both verbally and in writing. Experience in conducting surveys, focus groups or other methods of qualitative data gathering would be an advantage. Knowledge and/or sensitivity to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) issues with regard to accessibility.
