We are recruiting for a Peer Support Worker to work in the evenings at Gillingham Safe Haven Well-being Cafe. It is an exciting role where you can bring all your creativity and communication skills to help with a worthwhile service.
You will be leading sessions for our customers in different activities that help with the 5 basics of Mental Health Well-Being, such as
> Arts and crafts
> Social interaction
> Exercise
and a myriad of other things.
Hours are 6 pm to 11 pm on a rota covering 7 days a week.
3 to 4 Shifts per week.
Salary 23,205 p.a. pro rata
We are a friendly down to earth service that is embedded in the local community that offers a safe place for people with ongoing Mental Health issues to feel safe, socialise and be heard.
You will:
Have a good standard of English both verbal and written
Able to show experience of lived Mental Health experience and or supporting people with mental health diagnosis.
Be confident in leading groups and coming up with need activities
Be trained in Peer Support Work or be prepared to undertake the training
Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be prepared to have one done
