Job Description

Due to internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity within Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for a person with lived experience of Mental Health conditions to use their experience to support others as a Peer Support Worker within the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Team, who support service users in the community with their employment goals.



You will provide support to individuals within the service by role modelling and using your lived experience to support service users in their recovery and employment journey.



Service users will be seen mainly in defined localities within Lincolnshire but cover for other geographical areas covered by the Trust may be required if the need arises.



To act as a role model to service users and their carers to inspire hope that recovery is possible.



To share life experiences and lessons learnt as a person in recovery.



To share your own and other examples of lived experience of recovery.



To support service users to identify and access meaningful activities in the community



To empower service users to create a supportive network.



To use a number of agreed recovery tools e.g. SMART goals in a flexible way to support the service user.



To support the service user to communicate or involve mental health professionals and wider support network.



To promote service user involvement in all aspects of their work.



To use peer experience to co-facilitate groups and training to service users and/or staff members
