About the Service
The Adult Drug and Alcohol Service is Hillcrest Futures' service for adults who use substances across Perth & Kinross. This service operates in partnership other key stakeholders to offer a wide range of supports to people affected by drug and alcohol issues and associated harms.
We support individuals to build on their strengths and develop strategies to initiate and maintain their own recovery from problematic drug and alcohol use.
We support family members struggling to cope with a loved one's addiction to drugs and alcohol to improve their wellbeing and manage their situation more constructively
About the Role
The Peer Support Worker will provide one-to-one support and work as part of an integrated team within the surgeries providing timely access to information, advice, guidance, tools and self-management strategies to those referred to the service. The role involves accurate and timely recording information on to an IT system.
About You
You will:
Have personal experience of drug and/or alcohol challenges
Experience of supporting people face to face, via telephone or in group settings
Good communication skills
IT skills - understanding of basic IT packages - for example, Word, Excel and Outlook
Have the ability to travel to attend one to one meetings and facilitate groups
Have a full driving license and use of a vehicle for work purposes
