Over the last year, our People Directorate has embraced a new operating model, including the creation of a newly formed Talent function. The Talent function looks after all things Acquisition and Development (Learning and Cultural/Organisational) and works collaboratively with other People colleagues and the wider organisation across a range of programs, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve our Strategic objectives.

As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a People professional to join our team on permanent basis as a People Adviser (Talent Development). This is a part-time opportunity, working 21 hours per week, however applications from individuals seeking to work on a flexible working basis would be considered.

The Service embraces flexible working, and the successful post holder can be based anywhere across the country, working from home or the office, or a combination of both! Due to the nature of role there will be an expectation of some workplace presence and reasonable travel during the delivery and facilitation of training and other activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for confident, forward-thinking candidates who have a keen interest and enjoyment in working within a role that engages with staff to understand their needs and develop and deliver solutions to address these which align to the overall Strategic objectives.

Ideal candidates will be experienced in designing and delivering training programs and/or developing and launching employee engagement initiatives. They should be qualified to degree level or have equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience in the working environment. Applicants must possess Associate membership of the CIPD or other relevant professional body, or demonstrable equivalent experience. They should have the ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to build effective partnerships both internally and externally.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with a strong background in any of the following areas:

- Culture and organisational development

- Talent acquisition

- Developing and leading on large scale/ national recruitment campaigns

- Leadership and skills Development/ Delivery of training programmes

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. Therefore, the successful candidate\'s will be subject to a Standard Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
