The role of People Advisor is a key role in our team. You will support the delivery of our ambitious People Plan and its objectives to create a great place to work, ensuring everyone loves their job and can do their best work. You will play a key role in delivering efficient HR support and advisory services to all areas of the organisation and partner our leaders to ensure we are delivering a great PossAbilities experience for our 770+ employees.
The What
To offer advice, support and guidance to both employees and managers on HR matters. You will be a key source of coaching and information for line managers, proactively developing and supporting a positive employee experience for the people that work for us. You will support the People Experience Manager and have a focus on employee relations.
The Hours
This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday or there is the potential option of a part time job share. The Role
Advise and support managers with recruitment, selection and onboarding, creating approaches that positively impact engagement from the start of the employment journey.
Ensure an effective onboarding and settling in process and experience for individuals by providing support, identifying areas for improvement and driving the resolution of any issues alongside managers.
Manage employee relations from end to end, ensuring accurate advice is given, and updating the case tracker and employee files.
Manage sickness absence effectively, ensuring long- and short-term procedures are followed correctly. Report on and monitor absence metrics and focus on improving these through effective and timely case management.
Support managers with investigation, disciplinary, grievance and capability procedures, ensuring these are carried out in a timely manner, in line with our policy and legislation. Including preparing for and attending meetings in an advisory and note taker capacity.
Coaching and developing managers in people management, identifying learning needs and working with the People Experience Partner on learning and development initiatives to fill any skills gaps, including the delivery and design of training.
Support good management practices to ensure a good employee experience for all our staff, including advising on survey results and employee feedback and implementing improvements with managers where required.
Support the People Experience Manager and HRD with the delivery of projects in line with the People Plan
Ensure the accurate processing of payroll and pensions, support employees and managers with payroll queries and their resolution and liaise with our managed payroll .
Work in conjunction with other members of the HR Team to make suggestions for the improvement of services.
Deal with HR queries from managers and employees and support the People Coordinator, where required.

Has experience of working with HR and Payroll systems (we use ElementSuite and iTrent).
Have a full driving license and are happy to travel to other locations.
