People & Compliance Manager

The Role:
We are seeking a capable, autonomous People & Compliance Manager to oversee all HR and compliance-related functions, coordinate outsourced financial processes, and play a key role in shaping and cascading our performance-led culture.
You'll be responsible for maintaining a high-performance working environment, built on professionalism, accountability, and delivery. You will also act as the internal lead for liaising with our outsourced partners -- Mazuma Money (bookkeeping, VAT, payroll) and DreamTeam.io (HR document management and employee self-service) -- ensuring internal compliance and prompt fulfilment of data and communication requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Set and cascade the company's
people culture
, ensuring a professional and performance-driven environment across all teams.
Oversee employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, contracts, performance reviews, exits) using
DreamTeam.io
.
Ensure company-wide compliance with HR regulations and employment law.
Coordinate with
Mazuma Money
to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, VAT returns, and financial submissions -- you'll provide documentation, approvals, and internal oversight.
Manage employee queries, grievances, absence tracking, and records via our HR systems.
Maintain up-to-date employment contracts, policies, and documentation.
Lead or assist in internal investigations and compliance reviews when needed.
Support directors with ad hoc tasks such as tribunal preparation, disciplinary processes, and claims management.
Ensure regulatory and legal HR compliance across all active SPVs and entities.
Regularly audit and update internal records, registers, and reporting frameworks.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in a People/HR/Compliance Manager role (preferably in fast-paced, entrepreneurial or finance environments).
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practices.
Comfortable using and managing outsourced platforms for HR and finance (DreamTeam, Xero, Mazuma Money, etc.).
Able to work independently, take initiative, and proactively problem solve.
Excellent communicator with sound judgment and a professional manner.
Experience dealing with sensitive matters such as staff grievances or misconduct.
Organised, reliable, and able to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.
CIPD Level 5+ (preferred but not essential if backed by experience).
