First Rail Stirling is a brand-new enterprise and start-up rail operator that will run an exciting long-haul train service crossing the entire country. The service will run from London to Stirling, reuniting Stirling with a direct service to the West Coast of England during the day.

About the Role





We are seeking a People Advisor to join our team at an exciting time of growth. You will work closely with the People & Culture Manager, supporting them in delivering HR initiatives, while also acting as the main point of contact for all people-related queries for colleagues in our Preston office.



Based in our Preston Office, you will play a key part in recruiting our growing team and helping to create an inclusive and positive workplace culture.

About You





The ideal candidate will:


Have experience in HR or people advisory roles, ideally with a CIPD qualification Be confident providing guidance to colleagues on a range of HR matters, including policies, employee relations, and performance management Be self-motivated and comfortable working independently, managing your own priorities and workload Have experience in payroll administration Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation Be proactive, approachable, and solutions-focused Have excellent communication and organisational skills Demonstrate a good understanding of employment legislation and best practice



Key Accountabilities




Act as the first point of contact for all people-related queries in the Preston office Support the People & Culture Manager in implementing HR initiatives and projects Work independently on HR tasks as required, managing priorities and taking ownership of projects Help recruit and onboard new colleagues Advise and guide managers and employees on HR policies, processes, and employee relations matters Contribute to fostering an inclusive, positive, and engaging workplace culture Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation
