Job Description

Due to an internal progression move, we have a vacancy within the Bettys People (HR) Team for an exceptional People Business Partner.

This role will report to the Bettys People & Change Director with a very close alignment to the Bakery, under the leadership of the Bettys & Taylors Operations Director, Paul Coupe, and his Bettys team. This role will also provide partnering support to the Cookery School and the Bettys Staff Cafe team.

In this challenging and varied role, you will provide advice, guidance and support within all aspects of the employee lifecycle, supporting the continued development of people management capabilities and enhancement of the overall employee experience. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Bakery, Cookery School and the Bettys Staff Cafe team.

We are a small team, supporting a large workforce of amazing people, and our approach is to enable others to manage their teams well. Contributing at both an operational and strategic level, there is also an expectation to be involved in Group wide projects and have the ability to operate effectively at multiple levels.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate delivery in a complex environment, juggling priorities from numerous stakeholders. You will need a track record of working as part of a senior team, combining operational understanding and strong strategic thinking.

Previous experience in a role like this is essential. In the assessment process and when screening CV's, we will look for candidates who have done the all of core activities of a HR Business Partner or a People Business Partner in previous roles and is therefore able to get up to speed in this role quickly.

These activities are likely to include complex programmes of people change, some reward or L&D projects, as well as a breadth and depth of employee relations activity. Technical competence and working knowledge of employment law are a pre-requisite. Sound judgement, great communication skills and a willingness to be confident and decisive will also be required. A CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.

Finally, the crucial part is what you bring as a person; your energy, willingness to work with emerging ideas and the ability to make things happen with and through people. You will be tenacious, a team player, resilient, warm and professional, able to balance detail and big-picture thinking.

This is a demanding, full-time role. We'd be happy to discuss flexible working patterns, including hybrid and flexitime, and ideally this would include c.4 days per week on site at Plumpton Park. If you would like to discuss flexible working, please provide more details in your application.

N.B. Although this role will partner the areas specified above, the role may business partner different areas of the Bettys business if required to meet the ever-changing needs of the business. The core role would be unchanged.
