As a

People & Culture Manager

, you'll lead the adoption of our people values & strategy, developing initiatives that bring our aspirational culture to life. Alongside this, you will lead on the delivery of our 'bread and butter' people services, across the people lifecycle. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly support across the

people spectrum.

Key objectives of this role:



With our values as a strong cultural compass, develop initiatives that bring our 'Brightstar Spirit' to life to attract & engage great people.

Look for ways to enhance the employee experience & employee engagement to foster a positive & productive working environment.

Deliver excellent core HR services, designing & developing end-to-end people resources.

Act as a trusted coach to Leaders and Managers, holding our values dear in all aspects of advice.

Key responsibilities of this role



People



Act as an ambassador of Brightstar's employer brand, thinking creatively about how we can develop a positive EVP & brand, both internally & externally.

Pay close attention to Brightstar's direction of travel, developing & tailoring people plans that will support us in delivering our vision & people strategy.

Champion our Brightstar Spirit (our culture & values), ensuring it is threaded through the employee lifecycle & is 'felt' at a local level.

Seek out & shout about opportunities to enhance our employee experience, focussing on making employees feel heard, valued, & supported as individuals.

Take the lead on internal communications, staying close to key business activities & ensuring they are shared in a timely & clear way in the right forum.

Develop talent acquisition & development strategies that help us attract & retain great people, supporting them on their personal journey to thrive.

Embed our new recruitment platform (Recruit Genie), ensuring a slick & consistent user experience for both the Recruiting Manager & applicants, through from placing a job advert to onboarding successful candidates to Brightstar.

Lead the annual reward cycle, including aspects like the pay reviews for Operations, Central & the annual bonus.

Review & implement a suite of benefits that contribute to our EVP & support our people-first strategy.

Champion a 'high challenge, high support' culture through effective performance management tools, resources & processes, as well as holistic development initiatives.

Lead on recognition initiatives, embedding a culture of praise & championing the adoption of the new recognition scheme, Brightstar Sparks.

Act as the lead for social & engagement events, such as Hotel Heads conferences & Brightstar Awards ceremony.

Act as a trusted partner to Leaders & Managers, providing guidance on people related matters in an empathetic way.

Quality



Shape a best-in-class HR function that leaves our internal customers feeling like we're easy to do business with & satisfied with their experience.

Identify opportunities to improve people services, processes & tools, paying close attention to need areas & feedback.

Identify areas where systems & processes can be enhanced, digitalising wherever possible to optimise workflows.

Build commitment for digital personnel records, ensuring all people related documents are held on our HRIS (PlanDay).

Embed our new LMS (CPL by Access) to drive compliance across our portfolio, as well as embrace digital learning as part of our blended learning offering.

Deliver high quality HR support & advisory ER services, working closely with our external HR constancy to ensure slick & commercial service delivery.

Work with our external payroll provider to ensure optimum payroll processing, as well as ensuring we have a people data source of truth from HRIS (PlanDay).

Analyse people data to identify trends, measure impact & make recommendations for positive change.

Profit



Work closely with Operational Leadership Team to create workforce plans that accurately forecast staffing needs & deliver on payroll budgets.

Focus on our workforce composition (permanent, part time, zero hours/casuals and agency), ensuring that the right people are in the right place at the right time.

Optimise structures for agility & growth, leading changes with empathy and a strong focus on clear & effective communication.

Review & make recommendations for change on people related systems, software & services to ensure we are maximising investment.

Ensure that our people related activity falls within our annual budget & activities capitalise on our investment.

Responsible Business



Ensure compliance with GDPR in all data handling and people activity.

Promote sustainable practices by recommending digital-first solutions and reducing unnecessary print materials.

Report any issues promptly and accurately.

Treat all colleagues, suppliers, and hotel teams with professionalism and respect.

Complete all E-learning and mandatory training within required timeframes.

Act as a point of contact for assigned hotels, responding to & anticipating their people needs.

Produce reports & suggest improvements based on data.

Skills and Qualifications



Demonstratable experience in a People/HR role in a multi-site environment (hospitality experience desirable but not essential).

An influencer who can articular their view while also being respectful of others.

A team player who thrives from building relationships at all levels.

A flair for continuous improvement, in both the 'hard stuff' (systems, data, processes), as well as the 'soft' stuff (culture, employee experience).

Positive & proactive, and able to decipher the priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Tech savvy with the ability to implement & maintain multi-site related people software & integrate wherever possible.

Experience with HRIS & people systems (LMS, engagement platforms).

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data & report insights clearly.

Degree in HR, Business or related field (preferred).

CIPD qualified at Level 5 (or equivalent), as a minimum.

Ability to travel to hotels, as well as come to Brightstar HQ in Birmingham on a bi-weekly basis.
