We are currently looking for an experienced People Manager to join our Chesterfield site.
Having recently been acquired by Marks & Spencer, Gist is set to benefit from improvements to its supply chain efficiency, with network investment and a new journey to success taking shape.
The People Manager role will play a critical role in ensuring that all employees at the site are treated in a manner that is truly reflective of our values and cultural intention. You will partner the Site General Manager and operate as a true generalist.

Role details:
Salary: Up to 60,000 p/a
Hours: 37.5 hours Per Week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Chesterfield, S43 3FG
What you'll do:
Your key accountabilities will include:
Develop, support and deliver employee engagement across the site
Ensure management team are leading the site in a way that is consistent with our culture and values
Provide guidance and coaching to management teams to empower managers to make effective people decisions
Provide advice on all aspects of Company policy, best practice, employee relations and employment law
Maintain and promote good employee and industrial relations and ensure employee relations issues are dealt with at an early stage
Support capability development, retention and succession of on-site management teams
Ensure appropriate forums are routinely held to ensure open and 2-way communication
Support and lead various ad-hoc projects as requested by the needs of the business unit e.g. TUPE, Restructures, etc.
Support the site with developing and fulfilling their resourcing plans
Who you are:
Your skills and experience will include:
Experience in an HR Manager role, ideally within a logistics, retail and manufacturing environment
Credibility and impact to act as a true business partner to the site management teams
Experience dealing with ER issues
Experience with driving forward a performance management agenda
Ideally have some experience of working within a unionised environment, including pay negotiations, but not essential
Strong knowledge of current Employment Law
Ability to deliver change programmes e.g. TUPE
Excellent leadership and influencing skills
CIPD qualification is desirable
