About the role

About us

At SignHealth, we're not just hiring--we're breaking down barriers and transforming lives. As a deaf-led charity, we're committed to ending health inequalities and creating a workplace where everyone belongs. Now is the perfect time to join our growing People Team as we invest in a brand-new People Strategy to build an inclusive, rewarding, and high-performing organisation.

Here, your ideas matter, your expertise is valued, and your passion for inclusion and equity can create real change.

Why join SignHealth

With our first-ever People Strategy, led by our Chief People & Culture Officer, we are shaping a workplace where everyone belongs, thrives, and contributes to our purpose of a healthy deaf community.

We're building a new structure within our People Team to support our strategy. This is an exciting time to get in at the ground level, shape the future of SignHealth, and make a lasting impact. Our People Strategy lays the foundation for a workplace where everyone feels valued, empowered, and proud to belong.

As a deaf-led organisation, we celebrate British Sign Language (BSL) as a core part of our culture. Every team member is encouraged and supported to develop their BSL to at least Level 2, fostering stronger communication and deeper connections across our organisation. Working in a lovely team environment you will bring a friendly approachable can-do attitude.

About the role

As the People Partner for Employee Relations, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating a positive, inclusive, and fair workplace culture by providing expert guidance on employee relations matters.

You will empower managers and leaders across the organisation to handle complex situations with confidence, consistency, and empathy, ensuring every issue is addressed transparently and in alignment with employment law, best practices, and SignHealth's values.

What you'll do

Act as the first point of contact for complex employee relations issues. Provide expert guidance and advice to managers on disciplinary, grievance, and performance management processes. Ensure all ER cases are managed fairly, consistently, and in line with employment law and SignHealth policies. Develop, review, and update employee relations policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practice. Build strong relationships with managers to coach and empower them in handling employee relations matters. Deliver training sessions on people management, conflict resolution, and employment law essentials. Lead on ER-related projects, contributing to the wider People Strategy.

What we're looking for

Strong experience in employee relations, including managing complex ER cases. Knowledge of employment law and best practice. Proven experience in developing and implementing ER policies and procedures. Excellent coaching and advisory skills for managers and leaders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion. Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) or a willingness to learn.
