People Systems Officer

Farnham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you passionate about systems, data processes and making a real impact on the employee experience? We're looking for a People Systems Officer to join our team and take ownership of our HR Information System, ensuring it is optimised, integrated, and delivering meaningful insights.

About the Role

As the People Systems Officer, you will be the go-to expert for our HR Information System (iTrent), responsible for its configuration, maintenance, and development. You'll ensure data integrity, support evidence-based decision-making, and help drive improvements in staff experience through smart use of technology and data.

You'll work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external providers to ensure seamless system integration and reporting. You'll also play a key role in supporting statutory returns and diversity reporting, and in promoting data literacy across the university.

About You

You'll have a strong understanding of HR systems and processes, demonstrable experience in a similar role and a relevant qualification (NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent). You will be confident configuring systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting upgrades and integrations. You'll be skilled in data analysis and reporting, using tools like Excel and Power BI, and able to deliver clear insights to support decision-making and statutory reporting.

You will be detail-oriented, discreet, and committed to data accuracy and compliance. You'll also be comfortable training users, creating documentation, and working collaboratively across HR, Payroll, Finance, and external providers.
