How you'll make a difference:
As the Performance Data Manager within our Social Care function, you will be leading the development and delivery of strategies for the provision and use of management information. We gather valued information in intelligence and data making a difference for all our services.
What you will be doing:
Daily, your primary focus will be providing expert advice to customers (councillors, departments, managers), ensuring they receive clear guidance and information.
It will be your responsibility to ensure statutory and voluntary returns are complied with and submitted to the regulators such as Department of Health and Social Care, Ofsted and CQC, by set due dates and to a high quality.
Using your knowledge and experience, you'll maintain high quality and consistent services to customers ensuring that agreed standards are achieved and service level agreements if present, are adhered to.
You will oversee and coordinate the creation and establishment of reports using reporting tools and products such as MSSQL and PowerBI.
It will be key for you to ensure the collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination of data, management information and performance measures meet the needs of our managers, members and partners in terms of content, timeliness and quality.
Managing and motivating a team of staff, you will oversee performance monitoring, recruitment and provide guidance ensuring team members receive feedback and advice, development opportunities and that a highly competent, creative and participative culture is maintained.
What we need from you:
We require you to be educated to degree standard, preferably one with statistical or significant numerical and/or computing content or have substantial experience in a similar role such data or information management.
It is essential that you have substantial technical and management experience in data analysis within a large, complex organisation, including the use of large relational databases.
You must have the ability to effectively project manage the delivery of timely and accurate statutory returns to government, as well as being able to manage and prioritise daily demands for management information, working in conjunction with those requesting it.
Given the nature of this role, you will have well-developed communication skills and be confident in presenting and explaining results clearly and succinctly to senior managers and members both verbally and in writing.
You need to have substantial management experience and knowledge of setting and managing strategic objectives into team plans, individual targets and one to ones, with the ability to manage resources flexibly to meet changing demands and priorities.

This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
