The Streaming department is responsible for the strategy, development, and operation of our digital streaming platform, delivering high-quality, on-demand content to audiences across multiple devices and markets. The team drives innovation in user experience, content delivery, and platform technology, ensuring our streaming service remains competitive and aligned with evolving consumer expectations. Working cross-functionally with technology, marketing, content and editorial, commercial and insights, the department is at the forefront of digital transformation enabling the business to reach new audiences and maximize engagement in a rapidly changing media landscape as part of our FAST Forward strategy.



JOB PURPOSE





The Performance Manager plays a pivotal role in successful delivery of the Streaming Business objectives and KPIs, helping to ensure investment in, prioritisation of and understanding of the most impactful activities. This role is responsible for overseeing Streaming performance management and planning, working with the Streaming Product & Growth teams to ensure that initiatives are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable ROI.



The Performance Manager will lead the assessment of performance against targets and develop proposals, supported by actionable insights, to optimise resource allocation and maximise revenue and other key KPIs.



They will champion data-driven decision-making and support the Streaming Business Director in embedding a strong performance culture across the Streaming Business, required to enable continued growth in a highly competitive market.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Support with the evaluation and prioritisation of Streaming Performance activities, and provide commercial and analytical support across the Streaming Product & Growth team Support the development of and maintain the overarching streaming performance narrative and plans, collating and coordinating the annual streaming plan, and leading the development of Quarterly Business Review materials. Establish and run regular Streaming performance processes to ensure the latest position and underlying drivers are understood, including creating, collating and distributing supporting materials. Coordinate key stakeholder inputs to inform performance action, such as establishing and running the Risk & Opportunities processes. Lead commercial assessment and evaluation of initiatives, including business casing where needed, to inform investment, prioritisation and strategic decision making. Establish, own and operate benefits tracking processes to assess the impact of actions taken, and produce insights that inform further informed action to drive performance. Work with the Audience Insights & Reporting teams to design and deliver self serve reporting for Streaming to enable greater access to insights, at pace. Lead the Streaming inputs, and output review, for key financial processes including forecasting, corporate KPI reporting and budgeting. Champion data-driven decision making and improved performance culture across Channel 4.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS


Building and developing a performance culture across teams. Commercial performance management - proven experience in managing and optimising commercial performance within a digital or streaming environment. Data analysis and reporting - strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, track KPIs, and generate actionable insights. Financial acumen: experience in financial modelling and business case development. Digital media/streaming knowledge - In-depth understanding of the digital media landscape, streaming platforms, and monetization models (e.g. ad-supported, subscription, partnerships). Project management - demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Stakeholder management - excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working cross-functionally and influencing senior stakeholders. Team leadership - experience managing and developing direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
