Performing Arts Graduate - SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wigan
Start: Immediate or January
Pay: 85-100 per day
Are you a Performing Arts graduate looking to use your creativity, confidence and communication skills to support children with additional needs? Schools across Wigan are seeking enthusiastic graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants, providing support to pupils with a range of learning, social and emotional needs.
This is an ideal role for anyone looking to build experience in education, SEN support, therapy-based work or youth engagement.
About the Role:
Supporting pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one or small-group basis
Using creative approaches (drama, movement, music, role-play) to help pupils engage in learning
Helping students develop communication, confidence and social interaction skills
Working closely with SENCOs and teachers to adapt learning materials
Creating a calm, nurturing and encouraging environment
Assisting with emotional regulation and building positive relationships
What We're Looking For:
A Performing Arts (or similar) degree
Confident, expressive and able to engage pupils in creative ways
Strong communication, patience and empathy
Passion for working with children with additional needs
Experience with young people is an advantage but not essential
